Alvin Gao

Alvin Gao, 14-year-old pianist from Utah, is a full scholarship student in the Gifted Music School Conservatory where he studies under Dr. Vera Oussetskaia Watanabe.

Most recently, Alvin performed the Liszt piano concerto with the Utah Symphony in the fall of 2023. Earlier this year, he was the youngest semifinalist invited to the Denison University International Piano Competition, and he was a participant of the 2023 Colburn Piano Festival. He has played in masterclasses for Fabio Bidini, Micah Yui, and Scott Holden.

Currently an 8th grader at Midvale Middle School, Alvin has a wide array of interests that include aerospace industry and computer programming. When not practicing or studying, he enjoys baseball, American football, badminton, archery, and percussion.

This summer, he is honored to be participating at the PianoTexas International Festival and the Tianjin Juilliard festival.
