Meining Wu

Meining Wu, age 14, is a freshman at Valley Christian High School, San Jose, California, and an Honors Fellow in piano performance at the Valley Christian Conservatory of Arts. Meining studies piano with Hans Boepple. As a Concerto Competition Winner in 2023 PianoTexas, she made her debut with the renowned Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya performing Chopin Piano Concerto No.1 at Fort Worth, Texas. Meining has won top prizes in prestigious regional and international competitions, such as 2024 CAPMT Honors Competition State Final 1st Place, 2024 Henry and Carol Zeiter Piano Competition 1st Place, 2024 Bay Philharmonic Young Artist Concerto Competition 1st Place (Alvin Docket Award), Peninsula Symphony Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition Winners in both Senior (2024) and Junior (2023) Divisions, 2024 Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition 1st Prize, Young Verona International Piano Competition and Champion’s Keyboard Competition “Absolute” 1st Prizes, as well as top prizes at Artcial International, Pacific Musical, Aloha International, Weatherford College and Seattle International Piano Competitions. She is a Concerto Competition Winner at 2024 Texas State International Piano Festival, performing with Central Texas Philharmonic at the Finale Concert. Meining was also selected performer in 2022 Vivace Music Festival and 2024 SouthEastern Piano Festival, and a 2024 Superior Awardee in Music Performance of Creative Youth Awards by Bay Area Creative Foundation.

Meining has studied in master classes with world-class pianists Dang Thai Son, Mikhail Voskresensky, Jerome Lowenthal, Alexander Kobrin, Vanessa Latarche, and Igor Resnianski. As a Music Fellow and Ambassador of Classical Music at the Valley Christian Conservatory of Arts, Meining is actively engaged in events to promote classical music at her school and community. She was invited as a featured artist performing solos and chamber music at a series of concerts including Peninsular Symphony Annual Family Concert, Bay Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Concert, and the Valley Christian Conservatory of Arts “Christmas of California”. Recently she took the stage alongside pianist Elliot Wuu, an esteemed Valley Christian Conservatory alumni, Young Steinway Artist and Gilmore Young Artist, performing at the Conservatory Concert “An Evening of Note”, and received the First Year “Think Music Award” Scholarship generously sponsored by Elliot Wuu.

Besides music, Meining also has great passion in creating visual arts. Practicing various types of art mediums, her artwork has won top awards in prestigious art contests such as US Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, Federal Junior Duck Stamp Contest, and Peace Pals International Art Exhibition. Meining also loves dedicating her time in voluntary services where she can serve the community with her music and art specialties. She was rewarded the United States President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award of the year 2023.
