Yonghuan Zhong

Yonghuan Zhong

Born in September 2005. Yonghuan Zhong is a student of Prof. Wojciech Świtała, at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland.

He won the third prize in the International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments (2023) and the second prize in the International Piano Competition "Halina Czerny-Stefańska in memoriam" (2022). He is awarded the fourth prize in the 12th "Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam" International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz in 2021 and - in the same year - the second prize in the 28th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition for Children and Youth in Szafarnia. In 2020, he won the Grand Prix in the 14th International Volodymyr Krainev Competition for Young Pianists in Kharkiv, and the Grand Prix in the National Ignacy Jan Paderewski Piano Competition in Poznań.

He has performed with the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra under the baton of Marek Wroniszewski, and with the {oh!} Historical Orchestra under the baton of Václav Luks.
