Kenneth Chen, a student at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists, has been praised by his music teachers for his extraordinary inclination towards music. He loves classical music and his most cherished time are hours spent reading literary and historical books in the musical background of different composers.
Kenneth began learning piano at the age 5, and he is currently studying under Dr. Michael Berkovsky. He was not only taught how to play the piano but more importantly, to understand and express emotions within the music. In June 2021, he passed the ARCT exam in the RCM with First Class Honors with Distinction, and was also a scholarship performer in the Canadian Music Competition in 2018. In his Taylor Academy classes, he has consistently scored Exceptional in his Theory, Musicianship, Chamber and Performance classes, and has received scholarships consistently in the program.

In addition, Kenneth is a former member of the Canadian Badminton Junior National Team. He won a silver and a bronze medal for Canada at the Junior Pan Am Badminton Championship in Brazil in July 2018.
Kenneth's achievements in music are not easy, and are obtained outside the time of schoolwork and over 10 hours of professional training and competition in badminton weekly. At the same time, he has also used his musical expertise to actively participate in community activities including charity donations for schools, nursing homes, churches, and events for SickKids Foundation.
