Josephine Chow is currently attending Canyon Vista Middle School. Besides piano, she enjoys painting, playing the viola in her school Honor Orchestra, and swimming. She started learning piano when she was 5 and is currently a student of Alexander Malikov. Josephine loves playing the piano because it brings joy and comfort to herself and her audience. Some of her achievements include 1st place at Steinway & Sons Piano Competition at Austin in 2019, 1st place at Steinway Piano Concerto Competition at Austin in 2020 and 2022. 1st place at Paderewski International Piano Competition in 2020 and 1st place at the Junior Division of Chopin Youth International Piano Competition at Houston in 2021. She has also won numerous local competitions of the Austin District Music Teachers Association, was chosen to be Austin Youth Music Ambassadors for a few years, and received the Outstanding Student of the Year Award from ADMTA in 2020 and 2022. Josephine made her orchestral debut with the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra in June 2022, performing Grieg’s Concerto in A minor, under the baton of Geoffrey Simon. In addition, she also performs in senior living facilities, school choir, orchestra events, honor recitals of local music teacher's associations, and master classes taught by Dr. Sophia Gilmson, Dr. Bradley Bolen, Anderson, Roe and Professor Hung-Kuan Chen.
