Fifteen-year-old pianist Bill Vu is currently in the studio of  Anya Alexeyev at the Phil and Eli Taylor Academy Performance for Young Artists.  He embarked on his piano journey at the age of five when he was discovered by the world-renowned pianist Dang Thai Son.  Bill previously studied with  Richard Raymond, Michael Berkovsky, and has occasionally worked with Dang Thai Son and John O'Conor.

Bill has won prizes in various music festivals and competitions. These include his recent achievements such as: prize winner of the 2023 Kitchener Waterloo Chamber Orchestra Competition, the top prize in the CMC National Finals, second place and  special award for the best performance of a Romantic Composer at the WPTA SPAIN IPC, second place at the Young Verona International Piano Competition, and third place at the XIII Chopin International Piano Competition, Hartford.

At the age of ten, Bill made his debut as a soloist with an orchestra and has since performed with several ensembles, such as the Canadian Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra, the CAST Youth Orchestra, and the Kitchener Waterloo Chamber Orchestra. 

Bill actively utilizes his piano to engage in fundraising endeavours. He and his brother have contributed to fundraising efforts for both the SickKids Foundation and the Ontario Alzheimer Association.
