Chayapon Chanporn

Chayapon Chanporn, born in 2009 in Thailand, began his musical journey at the age of three. He started his piano studies at the Yamaha Music School, and by the age of six, he began more intensive training with Mr. Sek Thongsuwan. Since the age of 12, he has been refining his skills under the guidance of Professor Armen Babakhanian.

Chayapon's dedication to his craft is evident in his educational achievements. At just 10 years old, he passed Piano Grade 8 with distinction from The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. By the age of 11, he had also earned Advanced Certificates in Yamaha Piano Grade 5 and Yamaha Fundamentals Grade 5. Chayapon is currently a music scholar at Norwich International School. 

Chayapon has had remarkable success in international piano competitions. In 2021, he won first prizes at the 2nd Harmonium Online Plus International Piano Competition, the 6th Chopin International Piano Competition Thailand, and the Franz Liszt Center Piano Competition. His success continued in 2022, with major wins such as the Grand Prize at the 6th Thailand Steinway Youth Piano Competition, the Absolute Prize at the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition, and first prize at the Carl Bechstein Piano Competition for Young Pianists (Thailand). In 2023, he triumphed at the II Talents International Piano Competition in Spain and the Kasetsart International Piano Competition. In 2024, he took first place in Category C (14-17 years old) at the Fujairah International Piano Competition in the UAE and second prize in the Professional Young Artist II Category at the Chicago International Music Competition. In 2025, he won first place at the 2nd International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Kronberg, Germany. 

Chayapon’s musical talents have been showcased on prestigious stages around the world. In 2022, he performed at the Archipelago Performing Art Festival Grand Gala in Malaysia and the 6th Steinway Youth Piano Competition in Thailand. In 2023, he had the honor of performing for H.R.H. Princess Lea of Belgium during her visit to Thailand and participated in the MUSIC@TCDC YAMAHA THE INSPIRATION SHOW. He also performed Mozart’s Concerto No. 12 with the Maestoso Chamber Orchestra and Tchaikovsky’s Concerto No. 1 with the Kids Philharmonic Orchestra Singapore. In 2024, Chayapon played with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, performed at the 75th Anniversary Diplomatic Relations Concert between Thailand and the Philippines, and took part in the Siam Sinfonietta’s performance of Petrushka. In 2025, he had the privilege of performing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 and Stravinsky's Petrushka with the Siam Sinfonietta at the Symphonic Passions Concert at ACES Laguna Phuket.
