Emily Tianru Jin

Emily T. Jin, ten years old from Massachusetts, started piano lessons at the New England Conservatory (NEC) Prep School at age five. She has since performed at notable venues, including Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall of Kaufman Music Center in New York City, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Academy of Music in Philadelphia, Rockport Music Performance Center, Pierce Hall and Brown Hall at NEC in Boston, Hatch Hall and Howard Hanson Hall at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, among other venues. Emily has studied the piano with A. Ramón Rivera, Xu Guo, Yutong Sun, and Motti Fang-Bentov. She has participated in masterclasses and seminars with renowned pianists and pedagogues, including A. Ramón Rivera, Randall Hodgkinson, Victor Rosenbaum, Yong Hi Moon, Melvin Chen, Marina Lomazov, Konstantinos Papadakis, and Christina Dietrich.

Emily is a recent first-place winner in the 11th Camerata Artists International Competition Concerto Category, which earned her the honor of performing with the Camerata New Jersey Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Ben Byung-Hyun Rhee at Merkin Hall in New York City. She has won many top awards in music competitions, including the Gold Medal in the Seattle Int'l Piano Competition, Grand Prix in the Philadelphia Triumph Music Festival, Winner of the Ocean Music Int'l Piano Competition, Best Performance Award and First Prize in Miclot Int'l Music Competition, and First Prizes in the AFAF Golden Era of Romantic Music Int'l Competition, U.S. Int'l Open Music Competition, and ISCHIA Int'l Piano Competition, among others.

Apart from the piano, Emily enjoys reading, creative writing, drawing, and science. She has won a National Championship in the Math Kangaroo Int'l Competition.
