Joseph Cai is an 8-year-old boy and is now studying at the ISF Academy. He got into the Junior Music Program of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) at age 5 and now is practicing piano under the tutelage of Prof. Gabriel Kwok and Dr. Chang Tao.
Joseph was the winners of numerous competitions, for example: The 2nd prize of the Gold Medal Award (age 23 and under) in the 77th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival 2025; the 1st Prize of Junior Exhibitioner Award (age 12 and under) in the 76th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival 2024; the 1st Prize of Junior Division (age 13 and under) in the HKGNA International Music Competition 2023.
As a piano soloist, Joseph has performed in local and global venues including the Golden Hall of the Musikverein Vienna, Mozart Haus Vienna, Van Cliburn Concert Hall TCU in US, Solitar Uni Mozarteum in Salzburg, Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall.
Joseph gave his concerto debut at age 6. During the past two years, he has cooperated with the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of United Kingdom, and the Symphony Orchestra of Zabrze Philharmonic in Poland. He gave his debuts in playing the complete Mozart concertos K414 and then K271 in 2024, and the complete Beethoven Concerto No.1 Op.15 in 2025.
Joseph also plays cello and composes his own pieces. Besides music, Joseph loves ice skating, swimming, reading and traveling.
