
Carson Chen, 11, born in Canada, began his piano journey at the age of five under Dr. Olga Chichova, and has since developed as a thoughtful and expressive young musician receiving recognitions both nationally and internationally.
Recently, Carson is the 2nd Prize winner of the 2025 Canadian Music Competition National Final (age group 7-10 piano),having consistently placed top 3 in previous editions. Same year,
he also won the Overall Grand Prize in the Steinway Piano Competition (Toronto, age group10–13). Internationally,Carson was awarded the Distinction Prize at the 31st International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children andYouth in Szafarnia, Poland (2024). Alongside his solo pursuits, Carson enjoys making music with friends and regularlyperforms piano duets. His duo won the Gold Star in the Piano Duo category at the International Music and Stars AwardsCompetition and various provincial and local competitions.
Carson made his concerto debut at seven with Irvine Symphony Orchestra in Los Angeles playing Mozart’s ConcertoNo.12 In A Major (I) - earning him the Young Artist Award from the Global Outstanding Chinese Artists Association. In2025, he appeared as a soloist with the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra and the Burlington New MillenniumOrchestra as winner of their concerto competitions playing Beethoven’s Concerto No.1 in C Major (I) and Mozart’sConcerto No.24 in C Minor (I) respectively.
Beyond piano, Carson enjoys ice hockey, reading, golfing, and improvising.
