Kiana Sharp

Kiana Sharp is a rising junior at Plano West Senior High in Plano, Texas. She started piano lessons at the age of six andhas been studying with Dr. Alex McDonald and Mrs. Marcy McDonald for the past seven years. She has also had thegreat privilege of receiving lessons and masterclasses from esteemed pianists such as Marina Lomazov, Douglas Humpherys, Ran Dank, Boris Slutsky, Enrico Elisi, and Andrey Ponochevny, among others.

In 2024, Kiana made her orchestral debut with the Mozart Academy of North Texas Chamber Orchestra, performingMozart’s Piano Concerto in C Major, K. 467. The following year, she returned to perform the final movement of Brahms’Piano Concerto No. 1 in D Minor with the same orchestra.

Since Kiana started competing, she has earned top prizes at the Texas Music Teachers Association Piano Competition,the Collin County Young Artists Competition, Baylor/Waco Piano Competition, Vernell Gregg Young Artists Competition,and the Texas MTNA Competition, among others. She was also selected as a finalist in the 2026 Emory Young ArtistPiano Competition.

Over the past two summers, she has attended the Texas Chamber Music Institute and the Texas State International Piano Festival. Recently, she joined Chamber Music International as a youth ambassador andhas enjoyed performing with her chamber group.

When not playing piano, Kiana is an avid reader and also enjoys bingeing shows in her free time. As well as being an active member in school choir, she also sings in and accompanies her church choir. She lovestravelling to new places with family, including any opportunities to go skiing.
