Luca Maddox-Diaz

Luca is a sophomore at Northeast Classen High School for Advanced Studies in Oklahoma City. He began his musical training in New Orleans, where he started violin at an early age, and later expanded his studies to include piano. With over 7 years of piano study and more than 11 years of violin experience, he has developed a strong musical foundation with an increasing focus on piano performance.

Luca has distinguished himself through consistent success in piano competions and performances. He is a prizewinner of the American Protégé International Competition and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City. He is also a Winner of the Piano League International Competition. He has won first place in the OKC Philharmonic Young Musician Competition for three consecutive years, demonstrating both technical command and artistic consistency. He has also received recognition through competitions affiliated with the Music Teachers Natioonal Associatioon and the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association.

As a performer, Luca has appeared as a featured performer at the OKC Philharmonic Maestro Ball. In addition, he is actively involved with Harmony Ensemble, where he performs for hospital patients, using music to bring comfort and support to the community.

Luca studies piano with Jennifer Mihee Song and violin with Peter Nguyen. His playing is marked by a focus on tonal control, structural clarity, and expressive depth. He is increasingly dedicated to developing his artistic voice as a pianist and continues to pursue a higher level of refinement through performance and study.
