Amber Chen

Amber is 13 years old and currently studies piano with Kaichi Zhu in San Jose. She has been learning piano for sevenyears, and ever since, has been awarded top prizes in a variety of distinguished piano competitions. Amber has wonfirst prizes in the USIMC, KAMSA Competition, Gavilon College Competition, and US New Star Music Competition,receiving the Top Performer award as well. Amber has been selected to perform in the Junior Bach Festival as well as attain awards from the Pacific Music Competition, Marilyn Mindell Competition, and ENKOR Competition. On top ofthat, she was chosen as a finalist in the Golden State Youth Orchestra Piano Concerto Competition. She is a regular gold medalist at the USOMC, earning multiple Outstanding Gold Medalist distinctions, and was the regional winner ofthe 2026 CAPMT Honors Competition.

Additionally, as a winner of the Texas State International Piano Festival Concerto Competition, Amber has had the honorof performing as a soloist with the Seocho Philharmonia at age 12.

Amber has taken part in masterclasses with renowned artists and professors, including Meng-Chieh Liu, Armen Babakhanian, Victor Rosenbaum, Róża Kostrzewska Yoder, and many others.

Aside from piano, Amber enjoys volunteering to bring music to seniors, as well as playing tennis and crocheting.
