
Born in Boston, Norman began playing piano at the age of four and is currently a high school junior. He has earned top honors in numerous regional and international competitions, including the Grand Prize at the XI Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, Connecticut; First Prize in both the Solo and Concerto divisions of the William Knabe International Piano Competition; First Prize in the MTNA Piano Competition of Massachusetts; First Prize in the Radda Rise International Piano Competition; and Second Prize in the Harvard Musical Association High School Achievement Awards, among others.
In 2022, Norman had the privilege to perform as a soloist with the Las Colinas Symphony Orchestraat the Van Cliburn Concert Hall in Fort Worth, Texas. In the following year, he also performed with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. An active member of the NEC Prep chamber music program, he enjoys collaborating with other musicians. His trio took part in NEC’s Chamber Music Intensive Piano Trio Seminar (CHIPS) and was selected to perform at the year-end chamber showcase in 2022 and 2023.
Norman has shared his music widely through recitals and festivals in the United States and Europe. In 2023, he was invited to perform at the Latoz Chopin Festival in Busko-Zdroj, Poland. In December 2020, he was also featured on Steinway & Sons’ global media platforms as part of its holiday campaign.
After developing musician’s dystonia in 2023, Norman conducted extensive research and developed a method that cured his condition. He subsequently authored two scientific papers, both currently underpeer review at a flagship journal in the field, outlining a proposed etiology, cellular mechanism, andrehabilitation protocol. He has also worked directly with patients affected by musician’s dystonia, guiding them hands-on to complete recovery using the rehabilitation method he developed. After three years of struggle, Norman is deeply grateful for his recovery and eager to return to the performance stage.
