Andrew Liu is a 7th grade student at Imagine International Academy of North Texas, an IB public charter school. Andrew started his piano lessons with Dr. Grace Long when he was 6 years old. Throughout 6 years’ study, Andrew displayed the highest level of discipline and consistency in his piano learning journey. As a young boy, Andrew has garnered many achievements: gold medalist of TMTA theory exam for the last 6 years, Dallas Junior Piano Guild Honor Recital performer for 2018 & 2019, 1st Place of Dallas Piano Solo Competition in 2017 & 2018, 2nd Place in Intermediate Sonatina/Sonata division of 2021 Dallas Symphonic Festival, 1st Class Honor with Distinction of RCM Practical Examination in 2015 (the highest ranking in the state), and 2016 through 2020. In 2020, Andrew was awarded First Prize with Special Honors+ at XIV Sonatina/Sonata International Youth Piano Competition. Andrew was invited to perform at South Central Region Celebration of Excellence recital of RCM Certificate Program held at Kimball Arts Museum in February 2020. In the same year, Andrew won the First Place of 2020 AFAF Concerto Competition in his age group (7-13). He was invited to Winners’ Recital at Weill Recital Hall in New York and to Russia to perform with the renowned Kostroma Symphony Orchestra. Just recently Andrew made to the TMTA Piano Solo Performance Contest of 2021 to be held in June. In his leisure time, Andrew enjoys reading, traveling, swimming, and playing video games.
