One of the most distinctive pianists of his generation, Chun-Chieh Yen enjoys a vibrant career as a performer and educator across Europe, the United States, and Asia. He has appeared with renowned orchestras, including the Russian National Orchestra, Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie, and the Taiwan Philharmonic, collaborating with esteemed conductors such as Mikhail Pletnev, Henry Mazer, Uri Mayer, Shao-Chia Lü, Jun Märkl, and Günther Herbig.

Mr. Yen’s artistic vision seamlessly blends technical mastery with creative innovation. He has performed monumental projects such as the complete Chopin 27 etudes and Debussy 12 etudes in single recitals, premiered Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in Taiwan, and recorded the world premiere of Qigang Chen’s Piano Concerto Er Huang on Naxos. His collaborations include multimedia performances with the acclaimed actress and filmmaker Ai-Chia Sylvia Chang, fusing poetry and storytelling with works like Gaspard de la Nuit, Danse Macabre, and Liszt’s Lenore. Equally noteworthy is his One Day Piano Festival x 3, where he performed three distinct recitals in one day, each themed around mentorship, romance, and friendship, demonstrating his ability to craft deeply evocative musical narratives.

A celebrated laureate, Mr. Yen has earned accolades such as 3rd Prize at the Prokofiev Competition in St. Petersburg (2004), 1st Prize at the Hamamatsu Piano Academy Competition (1999), and 3rd Prize at the International Tchaikovsky Youth Competition (1997).

An esteemed educator, Mr. Yen is a Professor at National Taiwan Normal University and serves on the faculty of Music Fest Perugia, the Amalfi Coast Music Festival, the Colburn Piano Festival, and the Valencia International Piano Academy. As the founder of the International Maestro Piano Festival & Competition, he is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of artists. His students, who have won top prizes at prestigious competitions such as Ettlingen, Aarhus, and the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists.
