Jonathan Dandrow, USA (CEO, Radenso Radar)
Concerto: Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 (I. Moderato)

Despite only briefly taking lessons as a child, the piano is something that powerfully altered the trajectory of Jonathan Dandrow’s life. It was at age 16 when Jonathan fell in love with the instrument, asking for a piano for his birthday after hearing Bernstein’s performance of Rhapsody in Blue on the radio. After two years of intense study under Irina Zayaruzny (Cheshire, CT) Jonathan was accepted into the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, auditioning with the first Prelude and Fugue, Chopin Etude, and Beethoven Sonata he had ever learned. Jonathan finished his degree at Xavier University under the incredible teacher Dr. Polina Bespalko (from Nikolai Petrov’s studio), who rebuilt him as a pianist and artist from the ground up. After college, Jonathan stepped away from the instrument to start a business but began playing again in 2018 after being inspired by a Stephen Hough performance. In 2019, PianoTexas gave him his first performance opportunities in a decade - including the chance to perform the second movement of Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
