Jia touched the keys of a piano for the first time when she was 5, and has been taking serious training with uninterrupted enthusiasm ever since. She actively participated in major youth piano competitions in her teenage years and won several awards. Later with broad interests in a variety of fields, she graduated with honors and received both bachelor and master degrees in computer science in Melbourne, lived and worked in Beijing, Shanghai and San Francisco for the past 20 years. She developed a career in leadership assessment and talent development, both as senior manager in multi-national companies and leading consultant in a US-based consulting firm. Balancing a professional role as a mother of two young kids has not been easy and made her away from regular piano practice for quite some years. Jia resumed piano practicing and learning again in 2022, and by far she is pretty sure the miraculous feeling of being able to touch her childhood pianist dream again, interpreting music in different ways with enriched life experience has been the most inspiring part of her life. Jia is not only eager and excited to become a student again, but also looking forward to connecting with people sharing the passion for music and similar aspirations. Besides family and piano, she also loves cooking, reading and ballet, spared time for ballet training and had a few stage experience during the past years.
