Noah DeGarmo, USA (Emergency Medicine Physician, EMC of Team Health)
Concerto: Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18 (I. Moderato)

Noah DeGarmo’s lifetime goal: to be a physician who is active in music. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Cornell University, the Carlisle, Massachusetts native graduated medical school at Columbia University and completed his residency at Northwestern University. Now a respected and well-published emergency medicine physician, he holds a position at Arlington Memorial Hospital. He grew up seriously studying the piano and lamented the limited performance opportunity after college, which led to amateur competition participation. Most recently he was a semifinalist and jury discretionary award winner at the 2022 Amateur Cliburn and received first prize in the 2022 Harmonia International Amateur Piano Competition. Having struggled with tendonitis since he was 18, he also has a passion for helping musicians with the prevention of performance- and practice-related injury. In 2019 he formed the Boulanger Piano Quintet in Dallas and he will be performing Gershwin’s Second Rhapsody as soloist with the World Doctor’s Orchestra during their October 2023 Dallas concert.
