Ting started playing the piano at 17 in her late teens in November 2001 because of her love and passion for music. She works as a dental receptionist and dental nurse. She has studied with a number of graduates from the Royal academy of Music but is currently studying with International Concert Pianist Ms Qian Wu. Ting completed Grade 8 Piano in June 2008. In 2011, she was selected as a finalist in the ‘Office Musician of the Year’ competition in London and performed at the Purcell Room at South Bank Centre in June that year. Ting is an enthusiastic amateur player, performed in many music festivals since 2004 including the St. Albans, East London, North London and Hounslow Music festivals, gaining many commendations for her performances. Ting gained a distinction playing the Mozart Piano Concerto no 14 in Eb major 1st mvt at the East London Music Festival in 2011. She has taken masterclasses with Colin Stone, Idil Biret, Margaret Fingerhut, Gwenneth Pryor and Simon Nicholls. Also performed at Jersey International Music Festival for amateur pianists in 2013 which was broadcasted on BBC radio Jersey, and in May 2015 Ting’s interview and performance was broadcasted on BBC Channel Island News, Jersey. In 2013, Ting gained the Trinity College ATCL (level 4) performance diploma and in 2016 the LTCL (level 6) diploma. She has successfully held her Solo lunchtime concert at St.John’s Church Harrow in Jan 2017. She is a member of the London Piano Circle and the Chopin society where she performs regularly.
