Alex Ji started learning piano at the age of 10 and obtained the ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. He took a break from piano lessons after high school, focusing on his engineering studies at the University of Toronto (BASc in Engineering Science) and MIT (SM/PhD in EECS). During that time, he continued his musical development by taking some composition courses and playing in various ensembles, including the MIT Video Game Orchestra (on the clarinet). In 2024, he resumed his piano studies, now taking lessons with Seiko Matsuzaki. He currently works as a digital systems architect at Analog Devices (Boston, MA). Outside of music, he enjoys playing badminton.
