Kevin Zhang is a board-certified pediatric dentist and pianist in New York City. He majored in Biology and French at the University of Delaware, obtained his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and completed specialty training at Jacobi Medical Center. He currently splits his time between treating child patients in private practices (where he is known as Dr Kevin) and training dental residents at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center (where he is known as Dr Zhang).
He currently studies piano with Emily White and previously studied with Ching-Yun Charlotte Hu, Christine Delbeau, Randall Blatt, and Benjamin Whitten. As a teen and college student, he won several local Philadelphia-area music competitions and performed as concerto soloist with the University of Delaware Symphony Orchestra and Newark (DE) Symphony Orchestra. More recently, he has performed as concerto soloist with the Mission College Symphony in California and the Association of Classical Musicians & Artists (ACMA) Orchestra in New York City. He has played in esteemed venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kimmel Center, and the Salt Cathedral in Bogota, Colombia. A former member of piano trio I Sciolisti, he was invited to play a chamber concert in his native Montreal, Canada. He has participated in festivals such as California Concerto Festival, Euro Music Festival (Halle, Germany), and Music in the Mountains (Eagles Mere, PA).
In his spare time, he participates in fitness activities, including outrigger canoe, stand-up paddleboard, weightlifting, yoga, and napping with his cat. Kevin is a world traveler who speaks the six UN languages - English, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, and Russian.
