Michail Stefanakis

Michael was born in Heraklion, Crete, an island in southern Greece where he began playing piano at the age of 6. He carried on his piano studies through his first two years of law school. After a break from the instrument and the start of his career, he enrolled in the Athens Conservatory going on to earn a diploma in piano performance. Michael was a semi-finalist at the Van Cliburn competition for outstanding amateurs in 2022. He has also performed for two consecutive years in Limoges, at the Festival Amities Musicales Internationales. His current piano teacher and mentor is Mrs. Marina Labrinoudi. Michael has earned law degrees from the University of Athens and the University of Michigan and works as a director of international tax for Deloitte in Athens.
