
Justin Urcis graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University, where he also studied piano with Sara Laimon. After college, he taught English in Germany for one year, which allowed him to study piano with Peter Waas at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar. Other important teachers include Nina Scolnik and Jeewon Lee.
For many years, he worked in the field of arts administration. He served as artistic coordinator at the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and later directed the Monday Evening Concerts, a concert series devoted to new and lesser known classical music. He currently works in commercial real estate and remains passionate about historic recordings, contemporary classical music, and all things related to the piano.
Justin lives with his family in Los Angeles.
