As an active performer, Dr. Kim has appeared as a soloist with the Kenwood Symphony and collaborated with renowned artists such as Arnold Choi, Rafael Hoekman, and members of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Her performances have taken her to prestigious international festivals, including the International Sommer Akademie in Ettal, Germany, Talent Music Summer Courses in Brescia, Italy, the World Piano Meeting in Coimbra, Portugal, the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York, the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado, the Academie Franco-Americaine in Vaison-la-Romaine, France, and Oberlin’s summer program in Casalmaggiore, Italy.
Dr. Kim was recently awarded a grant from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, which enabled her to study with renowned Canadian pianist Janina Fialkowska. She has participated in masterclasses with esteemed pianists such as Anton Kuerti, André Laplante, Victor Rosenbaum, Aquiles DeleVingne, and Makoto Ueno.
In addition to her performing career, Dr. Kim is a dedicated educator. She serves as a collaborative pianist and instructor at Mount Royal University Conservatory’s Academy for Young Artists and the Amici String Program. Her students have garnered numerous accolades, including prizes at the Canadian Music Competition and the Calgary Performing Arts Festival. Many of her students have also received First Class Honours with Distinction from the Royal Conservatory of Music and have been accepted into prestigious undergraduate music programs at institutions such as the University of Calgary, the University of Ottawa, and McGill University.
