Hailed by critics and audiences alike for her "musicality, feeling, and unflagging technique," pianist Miyuki Otani has established herself as a performer of remarkable depth and precision. The Melrose Free Press described her performance as a soloist with the Melrose Symphony as possessing "a marvelous facility... dazzling in its clarity and delicacy," while The Patriot Ledger noted her ability to coax "an abundance of colors from the piano," keeping audiences "rightly spellbound."

Ms. Otani’s path to the concert stage is uniquely distinguished. She first arrived in the United States in 1996 as a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar, earning a Master’s degree in Intercultural Communications from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Following her passion back to the keyboard, she pursued a second Master of Music in Piano Performance at the Boston Conservatory. She made her debut with the Conservatory Orchestra as a winner of their prestigious Concerto Competition.

Ms. Otani has worked with several different orchestras. Her concerto repertoire is extensive, featuring highlights such as Cape Ann Symphony: Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, Melrose Symphony Orchestra: Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, Quincy Symphony Orchestra: Beethoven’s Piano Concertos No. 3 and No. 4, and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9, Tahoe Symphony: Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 (performed on one month's notice) and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17.

Her solo career has taken her to esteemed venues and broadcast platforms, including the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series in Chicago and a live performance on Boston’s Fox Channel 25 Morning News. Endorsed by the Chopin Institute in Poland, she performed in the Chopin Concert by Young Japanese Artists in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A dedicated advocate for contemporary music, Ms. Otani has given the world premieres of several works, including, Red Dragonfly Variations and Three Japanese Images for Piano by Martin Schreiner, Dominique, the Cat by Jun Toguchi.

Beyond the concert hall, she is committed to community engagement, performing countless outreach concerts at libraries, churches, hospitals, and retirement communities throughout both the United States and Japan.

Now based in California, Ms. Otani is a devoted animal lover. She shares her home with five cats and frequently serves as a foster for other cats. She is also the proud mother of a high school pianist daughter.
