Susan Groves

Susan Groves holds a DMA in Piano Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been a prizewinner in national competitions and was a soloist with the Austin Symphony at age 12. With her father, UT piano professor William Race, she performed concerts in the US and China as part of the Race-Groves Duo. Dr. Groves has an award-winning private studio in Austin where she has been named Outstanding Pre-Collegiate Teacher of the Year three times, most recently for 2020-21. Her students have won national and international competitions, been featured on NPR’s From the Top, and received piano degrees from Juilliard, among other institutions.
