Wen Ling Chua

Wen Ling Chua was born in Malaysia. She received her D.M.A in Piano Pedagogy at Texas Tech University, M.M in Missouri State University and Bachelor Degree of Performing Arts (Music) in University of Malaya, Malaysia. She obtained both performance diplomas: Associate Diploma and Licentiate Diploma from Trinity College of Music (London) in Solo Piano Recital with Distinction in 2006 and 2008 and she was awarded the Certificate of Excellence by Trinity College of Music, London. Her most influential teachers include Dr. Lora Deahl, Dr. Wei-Han Su, and Mr. Chong Lim Ng. Wen Ling and her trio group has been chosen as a First Prize Winner of 2019 “Golden Classical Music Awards” International Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall in the same year. She is also an active performer at Plano Music Teachers Association. She has performed at the annual Steinway Soirée since 2017. Dr. Chua is an independent piano teacher in the Frisco area and an accompanist for Grand Prairie ISD. Her students won numerous piano competitions including Steinway Junior Piano Competition, North Texas Piano Competition, American Protege Music Talent Competition, and PMTA Trophy Competitions. Dr. Chua is also interested in research on piano pedagogy topics which includes Memorization on Piano Music and Pedaling in Debussy’s Piano Music. She won a writing contest from Clavier Companion 2014 and her winning article: The Deeper Understanding of Memorization in Piano Music published on Clavier Companion Nov-Dec 2014.
