Concerto: Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 3 in D minor, Op. 30

Fangzhou Ye was born in November 2000 in Beijing. He started learning the piano at the age of six with Qiu Wang. After enrolling in the primary school affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music in China, he successively studied with Yameng Huang and Dan Shao. In 2015, he continued his music study at the Juilliard PreCollege under the guidance of Martin Canin and Ernst Barretta. Currently a student of Yoheved Kaplinsky at the Juilliard School College Division.

In 2016, he won the gold medal of the 1st Beijing International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists (Junior group), and a third prize winner of the 15th Ettlingen Piano Competition for Young Pianists (Junior Group). Laureate of the 2017/19 Nordmann Scholarship Competition at Juilliard Pre-College.

In August 2013, he presented a performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Concerto No.19 in F Major K459 with China Philharmonic in the Forbidden City Concert Hall. He also collaborated with Ningbo Philharmonic performing Chopin Rondo à la Krakowiak, Op. 14 at the Opera House of Central Conservatory of China in 2016.
