Concerto: Mozart Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466

"I started to learn piano since I was six years old, and I decided to take music as my profession at the age of eleven. I was accepted by Central Conservatory of Music Middle School in China and received professional piano training with Prof. Yameng Huang and Prof. Bo Tong. After eight years of study at this school, I wanted to pursue a higher-level education in U.S.A. I completed my bachelor’s degree at NEC (New England Conservatory of Music) with Prof. Haesun Paik, and I am continuously studying with her and Prof.Pavel Nerssessian as a Master student in NEC right now. During those years, I have been recommended by my professors and performed in NEC’s Jordan Hall several times, and I felt extremely happy and meaningful whenever I played on the stage. I had several awards, The Second Prize of the LESCHETIZKY International Competition, Honorable Mention of The Shenzhen Futian National Piano Competition, The Third Prize of the IMOLA International Competition in China, The winner of Tureck Bach Competition. And I attended many masterclasses and played chamber music as well. But ultimately, what really matters to me is that I could feel that music is a way to connect with my higher self, and with the spiritual world. Music is timeless, because I can always see the past through the composers and prospect the future through music. It is the gift for human being, and it is the utopia of humanity. The freedom within the music could take me to everywhere, but at the same time, it is profound and has its own weight. I am so glad that music could accompany me for a lifetime, but I can only see further if I learn more. So I hope this festival would help me to find a better self, and I will also recommend it to more Chinese people."
