Charles Roberts

21-year-old American pianist Charles Roberts started piano at the late age of 10, and was accepted into Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA at age 14, where he studied with Lithuanian pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute and John O’Conor. Currently, Roberts is completing his fourth year at The Glenn Gould School in Toronto, ON with Prof. O’Conor.

Roberts was the highest ranked American pianist in the 69th Maria Canals International Piano Competition in Barcelona, Spain in April 2024. He received first prize in the Mary Graham Lasley Scholarship competition March 2025 in Alexandria, VA, and has been invited to perform with the Northern Virginia Symphony Orchestra for the 2026 concert season. He also performed as a guest soloist in May 2023 at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel Castillo in Seville, Spain playing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

Roberts is a member of the R2DUO, an internationally acclaimed father-son, saxophone-piano duo with Timothy Roberts, performing concerts and recitals across the United States and Europe, including Strasbourg, Amsterdam, Seville, Washington, DC, and Dallas, TX. His European premiere was at age 14 in Paris as part of the R2DUO.

Roberts has participated in masterclasses and lessons with renowned artists such as Dmitri Alexeev, Arie Vardi, Robert McDonald, John Perry, Norman Kreiger, Jeremy Denk, Ronan O’Hora, and Anton Nel.
