Heting Xia, 22, is currently pursuing his master's degree at The Juilliard School under the guidance of Professor Soyeon Kate Lee. He was born in Nanjing, China, and began playing the piano at the age of seven. Since 2015, he went to the Manhattan School of Music Precollege and studied with Professor Inesa Sinkevych. He later earned his Bachelor of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music, studying with Natalya Antonova, Professor Emerita of Piano, and Professor Ran Dank.
Heting has received recognition from numerous competitions, including the Bosendorfer Piano Competition, the Concours International de Piano d’Orléans, and the Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, among others. He has performed widely in venues such as Steinway Galleries across Canada and China, and at prominent concert halls including Paul Hall and Kilbourn Hall.
He has appeared in masterclasses with esteemed artists such as Robert McDonald, Boris Slutsky, Angela Hewitt, and Jerome Lowenthal, and has been praised for his musical depth and technical fluency. His festival appearances include the Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival, Texas State International Piano Festival, Atlantic Music Festival, and the Gijón International Piano Festival in Spain.
