
Attila Szaniszló (b. 2005, Karcag, Hungary) spent his childhood in Cristuru Secuiesc (Székelykeresztúr, Romania), where his exceptional musical talent was evident from an early age: at five, he was already exploring melodies on a toy piano. He began his formal piano studies with Margit Simó and continued under the mentorship of Judit Lakó in Târgu Mureș (Marosvásárhely), who played a formative role in his early artistic development. In 2019, at the age of thirteen, he was admitted to the Special School for Exceptional Young Talents of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, studying under Gábor Eckhardt and Imre Hargitai. Since 2024, he has pursued his undergraduate studies at the Academy’s Piano Department under the guidance of Professors Kálmán Dráfi and Gábor Farkas. His artistic refinement has been further shaped by participation in prominent international masterclasses, including the Cziffra Festival Master Academy, working with distinguished pedagogues such as Yoheved Kaplinsky and William Grant Naboré.
Attila is a laureate of numerous prestigious competitions. His accolades include the Grand Gold Prize and First Prize at the Franz Liszt International Youth Piano Competition (2024), the Absolute First Prize at the Oltregiogo Piano Competition in Italy (2022), the Second Prize at the IV Danubia Talents Liszt International Competition in Rome (2022), as well as the Grand Prize and Special Artist Award at the Rezonanțe Sonore Inline Competition (2021).His distinguished recognitions include the Kocsis Zoltán Special Prize (2022), the Pro Cultura Award of Cristuru Secuiesc (2021), and the Commemorative Medal of Harghita County (2021). In 2025, he was awarded the Junior Príma Award in Music, one of Hungary’s most prestigious honors for young artists, and received the Petneházy Scholarship, acknowledging his outstanding talent and artistic achievements. Attila has performed extensively as a soloist in Hungary and abroad, appearing at such esteemed venues as the Grand Hall and Solti Hall of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, the Ars Sacra Festival, and several prominent international festivals and concert series.
He is currently preparing for the Liszt Ferenc International Piano Competition to be held in Budapest in 2026, regarding it as a major milestone in his artistic journey. Through his performances, he aspires to convey the profound power of music to inspire and unite audiences across cultures and continents.
