Runyang Wang was born in 2004 and began his piano studies when he was 4. He gave his solo recital debut at the age of 5, and by the age of 9 he had been admitted to the Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music as a recipient of annual scholarship. He had won major prizes in international and regional competitions including the Pacific Rim Piano Competition and Shenzhen Open Piano Competition, he had performed in stages of major events including the Morningside Music Bridge and Chautauqua.

Also winning prizes in chamber music and composition competitions as performer, he is versatile in various piano repertoire. He has studied with Cheung-yu Mo, Natalia Filippova, Yulin Yang, and Yingdi Sun. He has also taken lessons with such teachers as Marc-André Hamelin, John Perry, Krzysztof Jablonski, Marc Silverman, Hae-sun Paik, Jon Nakamatsu, Anna Geniushene, Paul Lewis, and more.

Runyang Wang is currently a Bachelor of Music candidate at Eastman School of Music, where he studies with Professor Alexander Kobrin.
