Mr. Zhu began his musical journey and training under the guidance of Professor Yuan Wu, Vice Principal of the Middle School affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music, where he received rigorous musical training and established a solid technical foundation. He later enriched his musical perspective and technical proficiency by studying with Professor YiGiang Sun for many years, a celebrated Chinese-American pianist, composer, and educator.
At the age of seventeen, he was admitted to nine prominent conservatories in the United States, including the Eastman School of Music, New England Conservatory, and Oberlin Conservatory, each of which offered substantial scholarships. He ultimately chose to study at the New England Conservatory.
He completed both his undergraduate and Master’s degree studies at the New England Conservatory with substantial scholarship support, and is currently pursuing the Graduate Diploma program in Performance, during which he has continued to receive an exceptionally high level of scholarship support.
At NEC, his most important piano professor was Professor Meng-Chieh Liu, under whom he undertook his principal piano studies.
