I learned piano from age 8 to 14. I attended Yewon School (Seoul, Korea) as a piano major and took lessons from Kyung-Sook Lee. Then I stopped piano and went to a regular high school. I pursued Physics and Mathematics during my university and postgraduate years. I have Bachelor and Master Degrees in Physics from Seoul National University and PhD in Physics from University of Chicago. Currently I am a professor in the Department of Mathematics at University of South Florida.
I started to take piano lessons again in 2018 from Vladimir Khokhlov, for one year. My current teacher is Kyu-Youn Butler since the summer of 2020. I won the First Amateur Piano Competition in 2020 hosted by World Piano Teachers Association USA-Missouri. Recently I have taken some lessons with Victor Rosenbaum.
