After owning a private school and restaurant in Japan, she decided to study new fields in the United States, where she earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information Systems, and a post doctorate study in Management Science and Engineering in Stanford University. Since then, Utako has worked in global corporations for more than three decades. About fourteen years ago, she had a life-threatening illness. Although it severely damaged her body, her love of music returned and provided a tangible lifeline. As a part of therapy, she applied to amateur competitions, where she was honored to receive prizes several times. With this experience, she founded Georgia Musicale Group in 2016 to share the joy of music with others. More than 100 members who are instrumentalists and vocalists from several different states and countries enjoy music together.
