Catherine Grimball began her musical journey in her hometown of Pensacola, Florida. She continued her studies at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan, where she earned her high school diploma in piano performance. Catherine obtained her bachelor’s (cum laude) and master’s degrees in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. An avid collaborator, Catherine worked as music director for the Pensacola Opera Artists in Residence program. Family is a cornerstone in Catherine’s life, and she supported her husband’s career in the Marines for fourteen years while raising their three children. In 2022, the Grimball family embarked on a new chapter in the Washington D.C. area and Catherine attended the 2022 Cliburn Amateur Competition as a Festival Participant. The Grimballs are now enjoying civilian life and the vibrant cultural scene of Washington D.C. where Catherine is an active performer and chamber musician. Catherine is looking forward to taking part in the PianoTexas International Festival and Academy this summer.
