I began learning piano when I was in high school. I kept learning piano for the next 6 years or so, hoping one day I could be a teacher. However, I wasn’t determined enough, or perhaps other things in life looked appealing at that time, I stopped playing the piano. It was only after I left work in my mid 40s that my love of piano suddenly came back. Now I found my joy of studying piano once again.
I’ve been taking piano lessons since 2015. As I got used to my regular daily practice, I got more serious about it. I’d soon started working up with RCM Piano Exam, and last year, I finally achieved Level 10. Now I am working toward RCM ARCT Diploma.
I have some important goals to achieve. ARCT Diploma is one of those. Another goal (or more likely a dream) is to perform piano concerto at Piano Texas International Festival. I don’t know whether this is an achievable goal for me, maybe it’s farfetched. However, I learned that the most important is the process of working toward something I want, and not the results. Sure, it will be wonderful and satisfying to meet the goals, but I know the most rewarding experience comes from the journey itself to achieving my goals. At the same time, I will have a privilege of sharing my music from time to time with other like-minded people, and that’s why I am applying for this opportunity at Piano Texas!
