Aizhen Du is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Oberlin Conservatory under the tutelage of Prof. Haewon Song. She was born in China and began to study piano performing at four years old with Prof. YuLiang Tu from XingHai Conservatory. At the age of 12, she was accepted by the Middle School and attached to the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Prof. Jay Sun and Ping Lin
At the age of 14, she gave her first recital in the Guangzhou Steinway concert hall and several more performances in the following years. In 2018, Aizhen was chosen for the school’s top talent program and the same year she won the second prize of the Guangzhou Steinway Piano Competition. Same year, she had private lessons with the Belgian pianist Renaat Beheydt, who is a professor at both the Xinghai Conservatory of Music and the Elisabeth University of Music. In 2019, Aizhen won the first prize in the Ninth Hong Kong International Piano Competition.
Aizhen also received excellent mentorship and personal tutelage of distinguished pianists
and educators such as Venessa Latarche, Mikhail Voskresensky, William Grant Naboré,
Leslie Howard, Solomon Mikowsky, Angela Cheng, Jia Ning Kong, Oleh Pavlov, and Ian
Jones.
