Jihee Moon is a promising young pianist currently pursuing her musical journey under the mentorship of Ran Dank and Natalya Antonova, Professor Emerita of Piano at the Eastman School of Music. Beyond being a dedicated pianist, Jihee is a candidate for the Eastman Chamber Music Certificate Program and pursues a minor in Music Cognition (Brain and Cognitive Sciences).
Raised in Korea, Jihee showed a talent for music, progressing through winning lots of competitions. She has secured prestigious accolades such as the Second Prize in The Korean New York Daily Times Symphony Orchestra Competition in 2023, the esteemed Muriel E Klepper Scholarship, Gabriel Ritz Saphar Piano Scholarship, and claimed top honors in competitions including the Crescendo International Music Competition, Soongsil University Piano Competition, and Korea Young Artist Music Competition.
Jihee's musical repertoire mirrors the richness of her experiences. As a active performer, she has graced the stage in notable events such as the "Back to the Future Live Concert" in Truro, MA, the New Paltz Piano Summer Concert in New Paltz, NY, and the annual concert of the YMCA Symphony Orchestra in Korea. Serving as the pianist for the NEO Piano Trio based in Rochester, NY, Jihee's versatility shines through in various chamber music extravaganzas at Hatch Recital Hall, Rochester, NY, and lecture recitals, including the Eastman To Go Program. Her interpretations of musical works have consistently captivated audiences, showcasing a profound understanding and emotive connection to the art form.
