Born in Liaoning, China, Yuefeng Liu began her piano studies at the age of five. She continued her studies at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music with Minghui Lee and Quming Zhang. During this time, she was a prizewinner in competitions in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Shenyang, and the St. Andrews in Canada. She studied with Dr. Laura Melton during her undergraduate and master degrees in Bowling Green State University. Yuefeng is currently a third year DMA student in piano performance major at University of Missouri – Kansas City in Missouri where she studies with Dr. Thomas Rosenkranz and Dr. Robert Weirich. In 2017 summer, she was invited to have a recital in Shenyang Conservatory of music in China. On February of 2018, she won the Conrad Art Song Competition. On the February of 2019, she attended to AMERI-CHINA International New York Winter Piano Festival and had lessons with the faculties from The Juilliard School and Curtis Institute of Music. On October 2020, she got the Alternate in the OH MTNA Young Artist Piano Performance Competition. On March of 2021, she got Third Prize in the OH Grave Piano Competition. On November of 2021, she got the First Prize in the Missouri MTNA Young Artist Piano Performance Competition. On July of 2022, she got the Third Prize in the IPPA Conero International Piano Competition. On October of 2022, she got the First Prize in the Caneres, International music competition Vienna. On December of 2022, she got the First Prize in the category of Piano Mater B in the Online International Clara Schumann Competition. On March of 2023, she got the honorable mention in the APS music competition in St. Louis. On August 26th of 2023, she played Tchaikovsky Concerto No. 1 and Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 3 in her doctoral degree recital with the orchestra she formed. Yuefeng is also an active performer in China both on solo and chamber repertoires. On June and December of 2023, she plays tour concerts and giving master classes in Shanghai, Changsha, Yingkou, Chengdu, Leshan, Shenyang and Jilin in China. Yuefeng recently has admitted by the Cleveland International Piano Competition, and prepare for other competitions as well. During her free time Yuefeng enjoys cooking Chinese food for friends.
